Jane Austen was born in Steventon, England on December 16th, 1775. She had a very big family with six brothers and one sister but out of all of them she was the closet to her older sister Cassandra Elizabeth and her older brother Henry. When Jane was younger her father had a large collection of books in his home library that she could use. Using that library had Jane interested in writing and helped her explore her creativity. In 1787, Jane had taken more of an interest in writing so she started writing her own stories and poems. In 1789, she wrote a satirical comedy called Love and Freindship but later she felt she needed to write seriously. Four years later, she wrote a play called Sir Charles Garandison which was a comedy centered around the works she was forced to read in school. Later, she moved on to writing her first novel called Susan which was a told in an epistolary format, a story told as a series of letters. Soon, Jane Austen wrote a novel called First Impressions but was later called Pride and Prejudice which became her most popular piece of work. In 1798, she finished writing another novel entitled Elinor and Marianne and continued writing Susan which is currently known as Northanger Abbey. This is under constuction.Kelsey Maddox
