Theodor Geisel is a poet who is better known as Dr. Seuss. He was a wonderful children's poem writer and is best known for his books such as The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch stole Christmas, and Green Eggs and Ham. He is widely known for his made up words and funny rhymes. Many of his poems have been made into successful films and are in the houses of most of the children around America. His amazing poems have made him into a household name and his great rhymes have made there ways into the hearts of the children of America.
Theodor Geisel was born on March 2nd 1904 in Springfield Massachusetts. His Dads name was Theodor Robert and his Moms name was Henrietta Geisel. His mother would chant rhymes to him when he was a kid and he said that this is what gave him the passion for rhyming. Theodor went graduated from Dartmouth College in 1925 he went on to Lincoln College in Oxford where he met his wife Helen Palmer, they later got married in 1927 without earning his degree. He later went on to wright 44 published books enjoyed by children all over the world.
